Mission Statement

The Phagebiotics Research Foundation studies and promotes medical and veterinary applications of bacteriophages in the treatment of bacterial disorders.
Our Principles:

  • We are focused on development of bacteriophage therapy as a tool to combat the growing issue of antibiotic resistance.
  • We support projects that provide the required knowledge and infrastructure foundation to carrying out physician-initiated controlled clinical trials both in the US and collaboratively with colleagues in foreign countries.
  • As a nonprofit research foundation focused on science and community need, findings supported by our efforts will be publicly available for use to further develop the field.

Our goals:
Collaboration in Phage Therapy Research

  • Supporting collaborative research that helps further clarify the safety and efficacy of phage therapy for key applications.
  • Bringing together the medical and scientific communities across countries and disciplines in order to coordinate research efforts for greatest impact.
  • Collaborating closely with other interested parties working towards widespread regulatory approval of phage based therapeutics.
  • Developing a forum for the establishment of evidence based phage therapy clinical practice, and the clinical research needed to answer key “best practice” questions.

Education

  • Supporting and providing phage therapy education for medical, scientific and general audiences.
Helping to develop the medical and pharmaceutical infrastructure needed for the application of phage therapy.
  • Developing a forum for the establishment of evidence based phage therapy clinical practice, and the clinical research needed to answer key “best practice” questions.
